I read your book this weekend. It was very, very good. I'd love for some of our parents to read it. As I have said in the past, you are a remarkable person. I admire what you do to help guide our children in the right directions. Thanks for all you do.

Remarkably accurate. Enjoyed it from cover to cover. I encourage every family and educational organization to purchase and read this book. You will be highly enlightened and never disappointed.

There are some books out there that say what truly needs to be said. “When
the Student is Ready, the Teacher Will Appear” is one of those
books. Calvin G. Sims has written a book that tells it like
it is, and makes no apologies for what he says. He forces us
to examine and evaluate ourselves, and to truly see the impact we
have (and can have) on the lives of our children.
In a world where parents and educators often feel powerless, Mr.
Sims has given us back the power that we have lost. He helps guide
us in providing a safer, more stable world for our kids. This
is a book that is essential reading for every parent and teacher.
Further, adolescents would benefit greatly from reading it themselves,
then discussing it with their parents.
Calvin Sims has done society a great service in writing this book. It
really does help open your eyes to what is happening to today’s
children, and helps you realize what you can do about it. Bravo,
Mr. Sims, on writing a book that is so necessary and pertinent to today’s
society.

Good morning Calvin. I just wanted
you to know that I finished reading your book on Saturday
April 15th as I lay in bed recuperating from foot surgery (which
went well, by the way!). You wanted me to tell you what I thought
so I will attempt to do so here. Please bear with me as I’ve
never been known for my few words!
The caring
you hold toward people, esp. troubled young people, and the goodness
of your heart are both evident in your book. Though you did not specifically
mention the Bible, it is obvious from your writing that you are
filled with inspiration and perhaps you aren’t
truly aware of it. You remind me a bit of Cornelius from the Scriptures, “a
devout man, and one who feared God with all his household, who
gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always.” Acts
10: 1-48
Your very first chapter entitled “The Heart is a Container” brought
to my mind this verse of Scripture: “A good man out of
the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man
out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out
of the abundance of his heart his mouth speaks.” Luke 6:45
It is obvious also,
that you must be a master storyteller and I would like one day to
hear you tell a story like those you tell to young people.
Throughout your book, I was constantly reminded of verses
of Scripture. When people live like the
world lives they can expect nothing different from their children.
I was happy to hear you denounce the immoral living of our young
people or old people for that matter. When someone says they can
do this or that because quote: “It’s my body” unquote
I want to point out that NO it is not our body according to the Bible.
1 Corinthians 6:19 declares to us that we are not our own, we belong
to God.
I thoroughly
enjoyed reading “When the Student is Ready, the Teacher
Will Appear”.
Because your book is
so filled with thoughts and ideas that are good and wholesome,
I want more than ever for you and your wife to come visit us
for a worship service.
Thank you for the enjoyable read and I look forward to hearing
from you soon. We are still planning on having a cookout here with
a few couples, our kids and grandkids (as well as my nephew’s
daughter Samantha whom you’ve met while performing at her
school) as soon as I’m
back on my feet good….hopefully within a couple of months.
Always,
Ginger Ware

books need to have been written. These books say things that
